Date Night Wednesday, He Said She Said

This past Tuesday as we were waiting for the Doctor  to repair Mike's hand, we had the chance to talk about a few diffierent things. One subject that I brought up was having an official date night. I wasn't really looking for anything fancy, I just wanted some good old fashion quality time together. Mike agreed that we could do that, and we both decided that Wednesday evening would be the best for us. So the next question was who was going to plan the first date. Mike had a quick answer for this, as he put it it was my idea.Fair enough. The next day I turn to my true and fast friend, Google, and after looking at pages and pages of date ideas I finally decided...... but when I went to Wal-Mart I saw something better and decided we would do that instead.

The Location : Our House               The Activity : Dominoes

I was feel pretty proud of myself that I came up with such a great idea, it was perfect! Because Mike could easily participate  with only one functional  hand. I also thought that this was a good way to show him that I wasn't expecting to go out every Wednesday. And what I thought was the best part is that we both didn't really know how to play  so I thought it would be fun to do something new together.  Now when I told him that what we were going to be doing that evening he didn't jump for joy but he didn't roll his eyes either, I took that as a good sign. I was pretty excited about our little date. One cause I Love My Husband and Love spending time with him. And two cause when I last played dominoes I remember really enjoying it. So I was looking forward to relearning the game. Taking off the the packaging was a real kill joy for me (there was way too much plastic wrap) but it did give Mike a chances to read over the 20 ways one could play dominoes. I did not know that there was that many ways to play dominoes! Mike thought we should give the "Super Dominoes" a shot. Now I could give you a play by play break down but really all you need to know is that I won!!! In fact I would go so far as to say I kicked his trash. At that point he thought he would do better playing it a different way, he was wrong. We didn't play for too long maybe 30 minutes or so, but I didn't want to play too long for fear that Mike would get bored. For the record he didn't seem to get bored. Over all I think it went really well. We smiled, we laughed, we cried (that was just Mike cause he lost so bad) It was wonderful marriage bliss.

I was a bit apprehensive when Elva told me we would be playing dominoes for our date night. It had been a long time since I last played. That was probably because I thought it was a way for poor people to entertain themselves. Nevertheless, I gave it a go, and it wasn't that bad. I think it may have been due to the fact we only played for 20 minutes or so, but mostly because I could see that Elva was enjoying spending meaningful/quality time with me and that is the point in a date night. I also enjoyed spending time with my wife and I look forward to our other date nights. I am glad though that we take it in turns to pick what we do!

Mike loving every minute
