2011 In Review

Wow, another year has come and gone. It seems like they just keep passing faster and faster.  I thought that it would be fun to share some of the highlights of the year gone by.

One of my all-time favorite moments in 2011 was the fact that Mike and I celebrated our first anniversary. We spent a beautiful long weekend out in British Columbia; I loved every moment of it. I love Mike so much, he makes me laugh, smile, and just all around happy. I know I’m a better person when I’m with him. He thinks so highly of me, I feel I need to make sure he is not wrong. He is my best friend, I feel like he knows me better then I know myself and he can always tell when something is brother me and knows how to make it right. He knows me so well and knows how to brighten my day. I love coming home from work and talking to him about things both big and small. He really is one of the best things in my life. And the fact that he is so handsome doesn’t hurt as well! I’m so excited to spend many more anniversaries with him.

Another very special occasion of this past year was the new addition to our family. Mike took me by surprise one evening when asking what I wanted to do that night, I responded with the usually way “Whatever” and that is when he dropped the bomb “Would you be okay going and getting a puppy tonight?” And that is when we got our Little Yorkie. She is just so sweet, always wanting loves and cuddles. Always wanting to be involved in whatever we are doing. She brings a whole lot of excitement and laughter into our little family. I just love that she is a part of our life.

Another fabulous day of this past year was the day that Mike surprised me with my wonderful Nikon D7000! I have always had this secret love for the art of photography and for some silly I kept that fact to myself for a very long time. I think it was a defense mechanism because again for some silly reason I thought it would never happen and if I never told anyone it wouldn’t really be real and then I would save myself from disappointment. Anyway that is going way too deep into the crazy way my mind works. Back to my camera! So this year I have spent many hours reading books on photography both the art and the technical side of things. I have dived into you-tube watching countless tutorials about all things photography and I have “wasted” many hours just looking at pictures trying to pick apart how they did it, the lighting they used, how much did they edited it and on and on and on. The most important thing is I have loved every minute of it. And I have to thank Mike for making this dream come true for me.

Another thing that I have really loved about this past year is this blog! I’m a fairly good journal keeper not every day, but often. The thing with my journals is more often than not; I vent all my negative feelings and thoughts it’s a way I work through my problems. It really does help me figure things out and what I should do next or sadly if I’m just being ridiculous which may or may not happen from time to time. The thing is when I go back to read my journals I often feel sad cause it was kind of negative. I try and remember to add positive things in my journal but I guess I use them more for therapy then a record, but that is where my blog comes in! All the things I post on my blog are fun happy things, things I want to share with my friends and family. So I have a lot of fun looking back at my posts and reliving fun and enjoyable moments. Another thing I really like about blogging is the wonderful and sweet comments people leave for me. It’s always fun getting an email saying “You have a new comment”!

So a Big Thanks goes out to all of you and I wish you all
health, wealth and happiness in the New Year.

with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us.``
