Who Likes to Party!?!?

Our little Yorkie turned one yesterday. It's kind of hard to believe that she is already one, it feels like yesterday when we first got her and she puked 4 times on the drive home. All of which landed on me! But I loved her anyway.
When we first got her
On Saturday we celebrated by having a joint Puppy Party with Yorkie's sister Pia, as well as a few of Yorkie and Pia's dog friends. We had the party at a dog park near by and I have to say we really lucked out with the weather, it was a prefect day.  I think it's safe to say that everyone (dogs and humans) all had a good time walking around and playing with each other (the dogs did more of the playing and the human did a lot of the walking).

The Sister'
Funny story about the above picture I got Mike to take it, and after I asked if it was good? Mike stated with confidence "Oh, Yea really good" I thought that's nice and didn't even look at it, till I got home and saw that he cut half of Candice's face off!! Also it was way too bright I had to go in to photoshop and play with the levels a bit. Oh well, I still love Mike tons and tons but from now on I will always look when he says its a good picture! ;)

Anyway back to Yorkie, I think she really enjoyed herself even though she might not have had any clue that is was her birthday.

Knitting and Modeling a Wonderful Pair

I fell in love with knitting years ago when a super fantastic lady taught me how. The thing is I have never been very good at is finishing my projects. There for I would forget where I was or how to even do it! Well this year no more! (hand over heart) I promise to always finish my knitting project before I move on the next super cute one! To make it easier on myself I'm only going to be making scarves for the next little bit. The catch is to make myself learn more, each scarf has to contain at least one stitch I don't know how to do. So I can learn how to do it! I think this sounds like a wonderful plan. So all my family and friends be warned, next year for Christmas everyone is getting scarves!

So the first scarf I did comes from the purl bee and it is their "Eleventh Hour Scarf" they say you could make it in about a movie. For me it would have taken about 10 movies to get it done. And the other thing is that I was so excited to get started that I just used the biggest knitting needles I had and I really don't think they were the right size so my scarf doesn't look as fluffy and cute as their. That is one of the reasons I thought it best that the scarf went to Mike cause in the end it looked more like a man's scarf.

Mike just loved it and he was even more excited to model it for you! You can tell by the look on his face.

Wrapped up in Love Can you not see the joy in his eyes
Now off to pinterest to find my next wonderful scarf.

Oh, on a little bit of a side note  there is one more picture of Mike all wrapped up in love but I decided to use it as my picture of the day so if you want to go check it out at the top of my blog you will see a little button that says "One Year of Photos" click on it and it will take you to my 365 photo project.

Second Christmas and New Year's Eve

This past long weekend Mike and I went up to visit my family. Which was wonderful, we got a second Christmas where we really got spoiled. In my family we "draw"  (it's really a rotation) of who we buy a gift for. This year my Dad had Mike and I ( we count as one person in the rotation). Now before Christmas Mom had asked us for some gift suggestion. I told her a bunch of thing but knowing my Dad and what he likes to get people they were all practical gift ideas. Dad must have loved all the gift ideas cause instead of getting us one like we normal do, he got us all three suggestion! Like I said we really were soiled this year. We got some really sharp knifes, some fancy frying pans and my personal favorite a brand new steam cleaner! Now I realize by saying this I may put "women-kind" back a few notches but I cannot wait to clean my carpets! What can I say I really like super clean carpets! I have tomorrow off so you know what I will be doing!

As a family we went out to enjoy some new year's eve fireworks. Which is always fun. I love fireworks; the colors, the lights and the sound all great! And the best part is I get to practice taking pictures of them! I feel I have a grasp on what the camera settings should be, but I have yet to master on positioning of the camera. I find it hard to take a picture, check it make sure I got the right piece of sky, then move it and try again. So what I ended up doing for the most part was just leaving the camera where it was and if the fireworks were in the frame, Great! If not, oh well. In the end I got a few I really liked.

Now with it being a new year it's time to make some new goals! This year I'm only going to have one. My goal is to complete "the 365 day project" aka take one picture a day for a whole year. I'm doing this with the hopes that I will become more familiar with my camera and better understand all the settings. As well to practice and better understanding composure and lighting. I have made a new blog call One Year of Photos for all my pictures. There is a button at the top left of this blog where you can link right to it if you would like to check out my pictures.

Wishing you all the best in the New Year!
