Valentine's Day Crafts

I enjoyed making last year's Valentine's Day crafts so much (go here to check them out) that I could  not wait to get started on this years.

The first one I made was a Valentine's Day wreath. Which let's be honest didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped. Mostly because I'm just a beginner at sewing so my sewn hearts look more like a mess then hearts.

I do like the idea I thought of, I just wish I could have executed it better.

It was pretty easy to make and for those of you that know how to sew better then me I'm sure your hearts will turn out much better.
Here are the steps;
1) Wrap a Styrofoam wreath with burlap. I glued mine in place.
2) Make the Hearts
                       a) Draw and Cut out hearts on fabric
                       b) Sew hearts with the fabric's right sides together
Note: Don't sew all the way around you will need to flip inside out.
                       c) Write BE MINE on hearts
                       d) Stuff hearts then hand sew close
                       e) Attach hearts to ribbon. I just glued them. And then glue ribbon to wreath
3) Cut out felt hearts and glue them on as well

And then you are done!
The next project I was much happier with the results. I made some XOXO wooden blocks.
My wonderful husband brought me a bunch of wooden blocks that he made for me. I then painted them a pearl white, and when they where dry I sanded the edges to give them a little more character. Then with red and pink I painted the letters on them. Like I said earlier I'm pretty pleased with how these turned out.

Then I could not have Valentine's Day go by without something made from buttons. So I glued together this cute little button heart.

I wish you all a Love-filled Valentine's Day!

"A hundred hearts would be too few
To carry all my love for you."
