One Month

My sweet little baby you have been with us for only one month today. And yet there are so many things that I have learned.
Minutes Old

I have learned that as a new mother, I should never to allowed to watch the news as it just fills me with worry and a great desire to create a bubble some where far away from the rest of the world so that I can keep you safe from all that is scary and bad.

I have learned that days don't have the same meaning to me any more as now the hours just blend together as I try to met all your needs whenever you are upset.

I have learned that if I want to get anything done I must have it well timed within your routine of eating and sleeping or else you will kindly let me know of your displeasure with the situation.
I have learned that there is nothing sweeter then holding you in my arms. You fit so perfectly there that a small part of me wants you to stay this little baby forever so that I can always hold you and cuddle you till my heart is so full it might burst.

I have learned how quickly I can jump to check on you when you make a sound that I'm not familiar with or that sounds concerning.

I have learned that even though I long for nights where you sleep soundly for more then 3 hours at a time, when you do stay in dreamland longer I wake up anyway worried that you are too quite and need to check on you to make sure nothing is wrong.

I have learned how many different means there are behind your sweet and often not so sweet cry.

I have learned what an interesting topic poop is and I now have daily discussions about your poop.

I have learned once again how great of a man your father truly is, he shows me every time he picks you up when you start to cry, when he holds you in his arms and gazes upon you as if to make sure he memories your face, when he changes your diaper without complaint even when it is really messy and smelly, when he wakes up in the wee hours of the morning to comfort and hold you so that I can get some sleep and when he talks to you and tells you how much he loves you, he shows me how great of a man is and how great of a father is already is to you.

Over this past month I have learned so many things but most of all I have learned how much I love you and how much joy you bring to my life.
